Canadian-designed Blackberry smart-phones have been industry pioneers for several years. Their ability to send and receive e-mail and to browse the Internet were truly unique features at a time when very few others were offering that capability. With the new Blackberry Storm, the small keyboard from earlier Blackberrys is gone, replaced by the “Sure-Press” touch screen, which comes in three styles, Suretype, multi-tap or full QWERTY. According to RIM, a subtle click lets you know a letter has been entered, an advantage for people who don’t like a simple touchscreen.
The Blackberry Storm features wireless e-mail, their own Blackberry browser, a camera (3.2MP), video recording, Blackberry maps, built-in GPS, instant messaging and an organizer and media player. It also provides expandable memory with support for a microSD car, 1 Gg of onboard memory and 128 MB of flash memory.
