Protect Your Tires In No Till

Protecting your tire or track investment is important in no-till applications. As just one example, today s new biotech corn hybrids leave quite a strong stalk after harvest. Running through them when seeding the following spring or for any other tillage application can be hard on your tractor tires or tracks.

At the Louisville show, May Wes displayed its new Tractor Stalk Stomper, designed to protect your tires or tracks from stubble damage.

The May Wes Tractor Stalk Stomper works off your existing tractor hydraulics, with a kit built around a 4×4-inch standard tube. You can use an existing open remote to control the stalk stomper. By plumbing a T into existing implement raise and lower lines, the stomper will raise and lower automatically with your implement. An automatic lift switch is used to raise the stalk stomper when you reverse the tractor.

There is no drilling or welding required and the shoes, which stomp the stubble, come in multiple 9-, 20-, 32-and 38-inch widths. For those farmers who have noticed increased wear on new tires or tracks, the stalk stomper from May Wes may be worth a look.
