Outback Guidance offers several precision farming products
with their Outback Sts and Outback S3 guidance systems, which
work in concert with the eDriveTC or the new eDriveX to achieve
hydraulically controlled auto steering. Outback differs from other
companies in that their systems tie in directly with the hydraulic
system of the farm vehicle. There is no mechanical gear drive for a
steering wheel.
The Outback Sts is WAAS enabled for four-to six-inch accuracy
with the eDriveTC. The Outback S3 is WAAS and RTK enabled and
compatible with the eDriveTC and the new eDriveX. The eDriveX
uses a proportional valve and enables the Outback S3 to achieve
RTK accuracy. To get the RTK dual frequency and one-inch accuracy
you ll need the S3, the eDriveX and the A220/221 Rover and
Base stations with Smart Antenna. Outback says that these new
products (eDriveX and the Base station) are not meant to make
the others obsolete, but to be a high-accuracy alternative.

The Sts and S3 boast a touch screen and moving map display.
This provides a clear, easy read of job data and system status
information. The system also uses the latest in Crescent GPS
technology providing industry-leading WAAS performance, which
Outback says is extremely easy to use.
