New Holland has five models in its FR9000 series, ranging from 424 to 824 hp. Cutter head width is 34.5 inches across all models, with the feed roll measuring 33.5 inches. New Holland talks about the FR9000 series as having a voracious appetite, and says the line is designed to offer the operator precision control to maximize field efficiency.
The New Holland HydroLoc feed roll drive system gives fingertip control to set chop length to the exact specifications for the job. According to New Holland, when the operator changes the length of cut, the unit automatically changes the header speed to match the speed roll speed. The timing of the feed rolls and header directly affects the performance, ensuring a smooth throughput. This gives consistent chop length for higher quality silage.

An option on the FR9000 series is a crop processor for corn silage to increase its digestibility to cattle. The 10-inch diameter rolls are 30 inches wide to better process corn kernels while chopping. A sawtooth pattern on the rolls ensures the kernels are cracked, further boosting feed efficiency. This processor is removed for grass crops. After the crop enters the harvester, the new extra-wide Variflow system achieves the strongest blowing force in any crop — from light and dry to heavy and sticky. A new 13-inch wide spout enhances it, three inches wider than previous models.
The FR9000 Series has the largest cutter heads in the industry. Its 1,300 lb. inertia compensates for sudden shock loads to maintain smooth and continuous operation. The new MetaLoc metal detection system isolates metal within the system so it can be easily removed, and a selection of pickup and direct cut headers are available to put up high quality haylage.
