New Holland builds both the CX8000 Series of conventional combines and the CR9000 Elevation Series of twin-rotor designs. In 2009, New Holland also introduced in the highest-capacity combine in the world, the CR9090.
For those looking for big capacity in Western Canada, the CR9090 has 544 hp at rated engine speed with a maximum harvest power of 591 hp. According to New Holland, the 9090 uses turbo-compound technology, which boosts fuel savings. This turbo-compound system uses a second turbine downstream of the first to recover energy from the engine exhaust gases. When this is combined with the 1,160-litre fuel tank, it produces a combine that can run all day.
The New Holland CR9090 Elevation has a 354-bushel grain tank capacity. This new combine has all the New Holland features of Intellicruise, Intellesteer, Opticlean and OptiSpread systems installed for greater efficiency. There is up to 60 per cent less noise level in the cab where you will find a multi-function lever for controlling the combine’s operations that is laid out ergonomically to maximize operator efficiency.
