new at the show this year was the rolling reel Leveler Model 75 from Unverferth. This tillage implement was being positioned as a “primary tillage partner” to work in conjunction with whatever primary tillage tool farmers might choose to use.
But who is still doing primary tillage? in many areas, especially in the East, the numbers are climbing back up. Clearly, Unverferth thinks there’s enough resurgence to make it worth pumping development money into new equipment.
Unverferth says the rolling reel Leveler has 16-inch-diameter chopping reels which feature five spiralled, three-eighths-inch by three-inch bevelled-edge blades for breaking up clods, knocking dirt off root balls, smoothing residue and levelling ridges for a more receptive spring tillage trip. The efficiencies produced are time, fuel and engine-hour savings — all working together to reduce your input costs.

The leveller is available in 15-to 18-feet rigid and 18-, 20-, 22-and 25-foot folding models. power requirements are one to 1.5 hp per working foot. The spiral blade design is attached to a 1.75-inch-diameter shaft, which is attached with a heavy-duty four-inch flange providing long-term dependability.
