Fendt is known for unique innovations, especially when it comes to the brand’s vision of how a tractor should be controlled. Alexis Max, a marketing specialist for high-horsepower tractors for the company says it’s all about simplicity. In fact the multifunction joystick, Varioterminal and other control components are designed to make whatever task you are doing as simple as possible.

All of the tractor controls are on the armrest, so no matter what position the seat is in, the controls are in the same position relative to the operator. The joystick controls the transmission of the Fendt tractor. When you move it forward the tractor goes forward and when you move it back the tractor slows down. When the tractor is stopped and you pull back on the joystick the tractor is in reverse. Moving the joystick side to side also has several different functions. Orange buttons control the engine, blue buttons control the hydraulics, green buttons control the axles and yellow buttons control the PTO.

Putting versatility into the hands of the operator is paramount. The Fendt design allows up to six remotes on the tractor with eight buttons which can be programmed for those remotes so different buttons can be programmed to perform most tasks. As you move to another field application, the same buttons can be programmed to do something else. The Varioterminal further enhances this by providing an information and command centre for the tractor. This is where you find the fine settings for hydraulic valve function, program engine speeds, cruise control memories and more.
