in addition to their guidance products, greenSeeker used Louisville to build more excitement around its rT200 nitrogen application system. This technology allows the operator to apply the right amount of nitrogen, in the right place, at the right time — in real time.
greenSeeker maintains that grid soil maps and yield maps produce data that is time sensitive. They don’t take into account nitrogen lost to mineralization or from leaching or denitrification.
With greenSeeker, application rates are changed on the fly. A real-time sensor is used while side dressing or top dressing the crop to evaluate crop status at the time of nitrogen application. University, government and researcher prescriptions and algorithms then determine the appropriate in-season nitrogen fertilizer rates to maximize profitability.
This greenSeeker optical sensing system is now part of the Trimble AggpS FmX integrated display. Algorithms for nitrogen management on crops like canola, wheat and corn have been tested by Agriculture Canada.
