The new Case IH magnum series runs from the Magnum 180 with 230 hp up to the Magnum 340 with 383 engine hp. The Magnum 190, 210, 225, 235 and 260 are the other models under 300 hp. Introduced in 2010, these new Magnums have more power and productivity, along with an improved operator environment and outstanding fuel efficiency.

The Magnum 235 and 260 are powered by the now Tier 4A-compliant 8.7-litre engine used in the Axial-Flow 7120 combines. The 180, 190, 210 and 225 continue to be powered by the proven and now T4A-compliant 3.7-litre engine. These engines are now outfitted with “Power Boost” which gives an extra 35 engine horsepower available for road or mobile PTO and hydraulic demands.

To meet the Tier 4 emission standards, Case IH uses SCR technology, which separates most of the emission controls from the main engine function. In other words, unlike exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) on other manufacturers, which re-circulates exhaust gas and needs a larger cooling system and diesel particulate filter, Case IH uses Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to externally reduce nitrogen oxide downstream in the exhaust. The new Magnum 235 and 260 have six hydraulic remotes with newly designed exhaust valves. Sitting atop the Magnums is the Magnum Surveyor cab now available with a new suspended cab option for a smoother ride in field and on the road. www.caseih.com
