Claas is a market leader in the self-propelled forage harvester segment. The company offers four models, the Jaguar 830 with an inline six at 367 hp, the 850 with an inline six at 438 hp, the 870 with a V8 at 482 hp and the Jaguar 900 with a V8 at 650 hp.
On the Jaguar Green Eye models, the engine is transverse to the direction of travel. This is significant because the chopping system is driven directly by the engine crankshaft via a maintenance- free, long power belt. This direct drive also guarantees a high efficiency of power transmission, at the same time holding down the specific power requirement. Maintenance is easier. The durable main clutch is maintenance-free while the drive for the feed rollers and front attachments is very low maintenance.

The crop flows in a straight line though every Jaguar Green Eye all the way from the intake rollers to the accelerator. Each step of the way the crop is accelerated and centered due to the chevron knife position to produce top quality forage. The heavy-duty Corn Cracker crushes kernels forcefully and thoroughly. The Corn Cracker takes a few minutes to install and is essential to ensure the maximum nutritional value.
Claas features the ORBIS 600, 650 and 900 corn heads which continually guide the crop in a longitudinal direction for exact chop quality. These harvesters also feature Comfort Cut, which ensures the length of cut can be adjusted quickly and easily from the cab on the go. The Jaguar Green Eye also offers excellent maneuverability, with a turning radius of just 34.5 ft. depending on tires.
