John Deere has four 70 Series STS combines with the 9570STS (265-hp, 298-hp power boost), the 9570STS (305- hp, 338-hp power boost), the 9770STS (360-hp, 385-hp power boost) and the 9870STS (440-hp, 471-hp power boost). Deere marketing rep for U.S. and Canada, Kim Cramer, says the 70 series represents a 15 per cent efficiency boost over the previous 60 series John Deere combines.
This efficiency boost comes from multiple areas of improvements over the previous 60 series. There is an updated feeder house, which features a front drum that is integrated with a floating mid-farm assembly, providing 20 per cent more clearance area. This is enhanced by the new DynaFlo II ICC (increased cleaning capacity), which boosts the 70 series cleaning capacity by 15 per cent. The fan speed has been boosted 12 per cent and the air movement has been changed with a larger chaffer area and redesigned grain pan.

70 Series combines have a high unloading rate system of 3.3 bushels per second, which is an improvement over standard systems. This has been achieved by increasing the diameter of the unloading auger. The new bullet rotor profile provides 35 per cent more clearance at the front threshing area of the rotor so material flows through faster and smoother.
