If you want to talk big, you must talk New Holland. The company already builds both conventional combines (the CX8000 series) and twin rotor designs (the CR9000 Elevation series). Now, it has introduced the highest-capacity combine in the world, the new CR9090.
The CR9090 has 544 hp at rated engine speed, with a maximum harvest power of 591 hp. To keep it going all day, its fuel tank is an impressive 1,160 litres, even though the machine is designed with New Holland’s turbo compound technology, which boosts fuel savings with a second turbine downstream of the first to recover energy from engine exhaust gases.
The New Holland CR9090 Elevation has brute capacity with a 12,500-litre or 354-bushel grain tank, but also offers all New Holland’s most futuristic engineering, including its Intellicruise, Intellesteer, Opticlean and OptiSpread systems. Pushing this efficiency even further, the company says there is up to 60 per much less noise in order to improve operator efficiency, plus a multi-function lever laid out in a logical, ergonomically way to control combine operations.
