NATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
With the approach of winter, inclement weather will become more prevalent across the country in this period. Snow, stronger winds and colder temperatures will all combine to bring occasional storminess to many areas of Canada, although coastal areas are not likely to see any of the white stuff before the middle of December. A prevailing cool circulation is expected to dominate British Columbia and Alberta in late November and early December, and the Prairies and northern regions will experience some of the harsh conditions as well. Most other areas of Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces are likely to see variable weather, although temperatures and precipitation should end up close to long-time average values. On a brighter note, an emerging El Nio promises to lessen the burden of winter with milder and drier weather in many areas of Canada later in the year.
