WINNIPEG, MB, Aug. 16, 2018 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures
canola contracts were higher Thursday morning, with positive
news on the United States, China trade war front pushing markets
higher.
In a statement on the Chinese Ministry of Commerce website
published Thursday, it was announced that a Chinese delegation
will meet with U.S. representatives later this month for a fresh
round of trade talks.
Chicago Board of Trade soybeans, soyoil and meal contracts
were all higher in morning trade.
Traders remain concerned that the recent hot weather on the
Prairies has affected the canola crop and will lead to lower
yields than earlier predicted.
About 1,700 canola contracts had traded as of 8:34 CDT
Thursday morning.
