ICE canola up with soy

WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 26, 2018 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures
canola contracts were stronger in morning trade, finding support
from soybean contracts.
Chicago Board of Trade soybeans and meal contracts were up,
while soyoil contracts were down.
The harvest in Western Canada advanced rapidly this week.
Thursday’s Saskatchewan crop report showing significant
progress, with 90 per cent of the canola crop combined as of
Monday. It is expected that today’s crop report from Alberta
will show considerable progress as well.
The International Grains Council is estimating Canada’s
canola crop this year will be 20.5 million tonnes, down four per
cent from last year.
The Canadian dollar was weaker this morning, which was
supportive for the canola market.
About 6,800 canola contracts had traded as of 8:47 CDT
Friday morning.
