WINNIPEG, MB, Nov. 6, 2018 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures canola contracts were weaker Tuesday morning.
Chicago Board of Trade soybeans, meal and oil contracts were all weaker.
Trading could be quiet today while the United States midterm elections happen. The results could affect tomorrow’s session, with the vote seen as a test of U.S. President Donald Trump and his Republicans.
Trading also could be choppy the next few days ahead of Thursday’s latest U.S. Department of Agriculture reports. These reports are important as they are the last estimates of crop production until the final estimates are released in January.
The Canadian dollar was weaker Tuesday morning, which was limiting losses for the canola market.
About 2,500 canola contracts had traded as of 8:37 CST Tuesday morning.
