WINNIPEG, Sept. 17 (MarketsFarm) – Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) futures canola contracts were slightly lower on Thursday morning, taking back some of the gains made earlier in the week.
Nearby soyoil contracts were down by about a tenth of a cent, putting a damper on canola prices.
The Canadian dollar dropped below 76 United States cents due to comparable weakness in the greenback, which tempered further losses for canola.
About 9,000 canola contracts had traded as of 8:45 CDT.
Prices in Canadian dollars per metric ton at 8:45 CDT:
                          Price      Change
Canola      Nov 529.90 dn 0.50
Jan 536.80 dn 0.10
Mar 542.80 dn 0.40
May 542.40 dn 1.00
