WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 25, 2018 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures
canola contracts were slightly weaker in morning trade,
following Wednesday’s sharp losses.
Chicago Board of Trade soybeans, oil and meal contracts
were all down.
Warm and dry weather has allowed harvest progress to happen
across Western Canada and traders will be awaiting today’s
provincial crop report from Saskatchewan to see where the canola
harvest is at there. Rain is forecasted for the next few days,
which could hold back harvest progress for parts of the
Prairies.
The Australian canola crop is estimated to be at 1.96
million tonnes, which is less than the previous estimate of 2.5
million tonnes.
The Canadian dollar was weaker this morning, which was
limiting losses for the Canadian dollar.
About 6,600 canola contracts had traded as of 8:45 CDT
Thursday morning.
