ICE canola down to start off week

WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 22, 2018 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures
canola contracts were weaker in morning trade, continuing in the
seesaw pattern from last week.
Chicago Board of Trade soybeans and meal contracts were
stronger, while soyoil contracts were weaker.
Farmers across Western Canada were able to make significant
harvest progress over the weekend. Warm and dry weather is
expected throughout most of the week, farmers in Saskatchewan
may be able to wrap up their harvest this week.
The Canadian dollar was weaker which limited losses for
canola.
Traders are starting to turn their attention to the January
canola contract with volume increasing in it, as the November
contract nears expiry.
About 3,200 canola contracts had traded as of 8:55 CDT
Monday morning.
