WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 23, 2018 (CNS Canada) – ICE Futures
canola contracts were weaker in morning trade.
Chicago Board of Trade soybeans, oil and meal contracts
were all down also. There are reports of quality deterioration
for the soybean crop as the harvest has resumed in the United
States.
There are reports of harvest progress across Western Canada
following warm and dry weather throughout last week and into the
weekend. The crop report from Manitoba released Monday showed
that the canola harvest there is nearing completion at 95 per
cent combined.
Global equity markets opened sharply lower, as geo-
political tensions over Saudi Arabia weighed markets.
About 5,300 canola contracts had traded as of 8:51 CDT
Tuesday morning.
