Glacier FarmMedia – Canola futures on the Intercontinental Exchange were lower on Thursday morning, despite increases in most comparable oils.

There was spillover from sharp gains in crude oil, which underpinned upticks in MATIF rapeseed and Malaysian palm oil. While Chicago soyoil was to the downside, soybeans and soymeal were higher.

A trader stated canola will continue to closely follow soyoil.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada released its monthly supply and demand estimates on Wednesday with few changes from its February report. AAFC reduced its call on 2026/27 canola ending stocks by 200,000 tonnes at 1.46 million, but the agency kept the oilseed’s 2025/26 carryover at 2.76 million.
