- On the cusp of the third year of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the United States imposed sanctions on more than 500 Russian individuals and entities on Friday. The latest round of sanctions also included officials said to be connected to the recent death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. The European Union and the United Kingdom imposed more sanctions on Russia as well.

- Tech giant Nvidia added US$277 billion to its value on Thursday, the day after the world’s largest stock released its quarterly earnings report. Nvidia’s market capitalization hit US$1.96 trillion when it’s stock surged more than 16 per cent to close at a record US$785.38.
- Lynx Air announced late Thursday that it will cease operations as of 12:01 am MDT on Feb. 26. After two years of financially troubled operations, the Canadian discount airline filed for creditor protection from the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta. WestJet said it will aid Lynx passengers, including 25 per cent discounts on routes that its competitor also flew.
