Global Markets: Nokia to merge with T-Mobile

WINNIPEG, July 30 (CNS) – A merger between Nokia and T-
Mobile is set to give the United States another giant player in
the world of telecoms. T-Mobile had already agreed to a merger
with Sprint earlier this year, as the two companies vied to
compete with larger companies Verizon and AT&T. Under the terms
of the proposed agreement, Nokia will supply T-Mobile with 5G
network equipment. The merger is pegged at US$3.5 billion.

Canadian trade officials will meet with their counterparts
from Mexico, Europe and Asia tomorrow in Geneva. At issue is the

electric motorcycle. The unit will be called the LiveWire and is
due out next year. The company has seen its sales sputter in
recent years and is hoping to reverse its momentum with the
rollout.
