– Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that King Charles is undergoing outpatient treatment for a form of cancer, which was detected during treatment for an enlarged prostate but is not related to that condition. The 75-year-old monarch will cancel all upcoming public engagements while in treatment, but will still carry out state business. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told BBC Radio that the King’s cancer was caught early.

– Insurance company Manulife said on Monday it will not go forward with an exclusivity deal which would see the company only cover prescription drugs at Loblaw-owned pharmacies. The deal would have affected 260 medications under Manulife’s Specialty Drug Care Program, which treats complex, chronic or life-threatening conditions. Manulife acknowledged on its website that the change was made due to feedback from the public.
– Calgary-based Suncor Energy Inc. must pay a US$10.5-million fine for air pollution at its refinery in Commerce City, Col. after a ruling from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Monday. The punishment comes from air quality incidents from 2019 to 2021. Suncor agreed to pay US$2.5 million in penalties, as well as a minimum US$8 million for electrical improvements at the facility, which had seen breakdowns and fires in recent years. It is the largest-ever fine handed out by the agency.
