- Israeli forces raided the West Bank city of Ramallah overnight, conducting their largest operation in the Palestinian enclave in years. A 16-year-old was reportedly shot and killed in a refugee camp, after confrontations broke out during the raid.
- Haiti has declared a 72-hour state of emergency after violence over the weekend saw gunmen overrun two of the country’s largest prisons in coordinated attacks, freeing thousands of inmates. At least nine people were killed during the weekend violence, including four police officers.
- Apple has been fined 1.84 euros (US$2 billion) by the European Commission over penalties related to European Union antitrust rules. The decision was triggered by a 2019 complaint from Spotify over Apple’s high fees and restrictions preventing Spotify and other music streaming platforms from informing users of payment options outside of the App Store.
