step down April 1. He had earlier promised to retire as the
company named existing managers to head its materials science
unit when it spins off as Dow next year. Jim Fitterling,
currently chief operating officer of the materials science unit,

Tens of thousands of protesting farmers from India’s
Maharashtra state marched into the state capital of Mumbai
Monday. The farmers marched 180 km over several days demanding
waivers of agricultural loans and the transfer of forest lands
to villagers who have been tilling them for decades. It was the
second major protest by farmers in less than a year.
United States President Donald Trump tweeted Monday that
Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross will speak with European Union
representatives about lowering tariffs against the U.S. Trump’s
tweet stated the EU’s tariffs and barriers aren’t fair to U.S.
farmers and manufacturers.
