- India and the European Union have reached a free trade agreement after nearly 20 years of negotiations. The deal will see free trade on almost all goods traded between India and the 27 members of the EU. A framework on defence and security co-operation was also agreed on. Indian President Narendra Modi said the deal “represents 25 per cent of the global GDP and one-third of global trade.”
- The United States is reportedly moving an “armada” of ships towards Iran, said President Donald Trump in an interview. Trump claimed Iranian leaders wanted “to make a deal.”
- Hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S. were still without power Tuesday morning as they continued to deal with the fallout of the storm that brought ice to southern regions and heavy snow to the north. Toronto was also digging out from a record-setting storm that saw as much as 60 cm of snow fall in one day.
