- In a landmark ruling on Tuesday, the European Court of Human Rights said the Swiss government violated the human rights of its citizens by not doing enough to tackle climate change. A group of more than 2,000 senior Swiss women, known as KlimaSeniornnen, said the government’s inaction puts them at risk of dying in heatwaves. However, the European court ruled against two similar cases brought forward by a group of young people from Portugal and a coastal community in France.

- A survey by LSEG Data published on Monday found a growing number of futures traders believe the United States Federal Reserve won’t cut its key interest rates as quickly as initially anticipated. The poll found 49 per cent of those surveyed believe the Fed will cut rates in June compared to 57 per cent a week earlier. A growing number of traders pointed to the difficulty of cutting rates without an inflationary rebound. The Fed is set to release the minutes of its March meeting on Friday.
- Shares in Trump Media & Technology Corp. lost eight per cent on Monday, according to reports. The latest drop has meant the shares have tumbled by a third of their value. The drastic reduction has come after Trump media, which owns Truth Social, went public in March and share values ballooned. Since then, they have steadily fallen with former U.S. President Donald Trump seeing his stake in the company careen from US$5.2 billion to US$2.9 billion.
