– Canada’s annual rate of inflation climbed to 2.5 per cent in June, marking the largest reading in more than six years, according to data released by Statistics Canada.
– Retail sales increased by 2.0 per cent in May, hitting C$50.8 billion, said Statistics Canada in a separate report. The increase came following a 0.9 per cent decline the previous month.
– In an interview with CNBC, United States President Donald Trump threated to impose tariffs on all US$500 billion worth of goods the U.S. imports from China.
