- The container ship Dali collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland early Tuesday morning, collapsing a large span of the structure. The latest reports said two people were rescued from the cold waters of the Patapsco River while emergency crews continued searching for up to 20 missing people. A sonar search confirmed there were vehicles in the water. The Port of Baltimore, one of the busiest in the United States, handles motor vehicles, farm and construction machinery, sugar, gypsum, and coal.

- A former U.S. Federal Aviation Authority senior official accused Boeing on Tuesday, “from being a company of engineers to a company of accountants,” following the resignation of the aircraft manufacturer’s chief executive officer Dave Calhoun. Barry Valentine said the change in Boeing’s philosophy came when as it tried to respond to challenges from Airbus. Since then, there have been a number of problems with the Boeing 737 Max, including two crashes that killed nearly 350 people. Most recently a cabin panel blew out of a 737 mid-flight in January, with the aircraft making an emergency landing without any fatalities.
- Reports on Tuesday said Israel rejected ceasefire demands from Hamas. The latter called for Israel’s full withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, with Israel deemed to be “delusional.” Meanwhile, health officials in Gaza said 81 people were killed with 93 wounded from the war during the last 24 hours.
