Nufarm Canada will take over marketing and sales responsibility in Western Canada for Dow AgroSciences’ herbicide Curtail M.
Curtail M is a Group 4 (clopyralid and MCPA ester) herbicide that controls Canada thistle, sow thistle, dandelion and other broadleaf weeds in barley, wheat, oats, flax and forage grasses.
The product can also be tank-mixed with all grass weed herbicides, the two companies said in a release.
Nufarm has shown its ability to support mature brands over the past several years, Dow spokespeople noted in the release Friday. Nufarm in 2005 bought the Assert herbicide brand from BASF and has also marketed other older chemistries such as 2,4-D, MCPA and Estaprop.
“With our extensive portfolio of high-performing cereal herbicides and several new product launches coming, this change will ensure that Curtail M gets the support and attention it deserves,” said Dow marketing manager Kelly Bennett.
