The Manitoba Canola Growers says that as of Dec. 7, 1,382 ballots have been received for its 2009 director elections. This compares to a total of 1,566 for the 2007 elections.
The deadline for receipt of ballots by election co-ordinator Meyers Norris Penny is 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 10. Ballots will be counted Dec. 11
Candidates include incumbents Brian Chorney of East Selkirk, Ed Rempel of Starbuck, Ernie Sirski of Dauphin and Wilfred (Butch) Harder of Lowe Farm, along with challengers Eduard Hiebert of St. Francois Xavier and Hugh Drake of Elkhorn.
