The Manitoba Canola Growers Association re-elected a group of mostly familiar faces as its new executive at its meeting Tuesday in Brandon.
Ernie Sirski was elected president, replacing farmer Brian Chorney of East Selkirk. Sirski, who farms at Dauphin, has previously served in several roles, including president, on the association’s executive, and was also previously a director on the board of Agricore United before its merger into Viterra.
Rob Pettinger, who farms at Elgin and is a former AU vice-chairman, was elected MCGA vice-president, replacing Dale Gryba of Gilbert Plains. Bruce Dalgarno of Newdale replaces Sirski as treasurer. Ed Rempel of Starbuck replaced Tom Kieper of Russell as secretary.
Gryba and Rempel were also elected as the association’s marketing co-chairmen, while Barry Chappell of Hamiota was elected as research chair.
