Canada’s largest publisher of farm magazines and newspapers has cultivated a new source of news for farmers in Ontario.
Launched Wednesday at the London Farm Show, Farmtario will be a biweekly print publication starting April 30. Its website, Farmtario.com, is available immediately.
“We see a bright future for Ontario agriculture and we’re proud to announce Farmtario will be part of it,” Glacier FarmMedia president Bob Willcox said in a release.
Farmtario’s editorial team will be led by John Greig, a well-known southwestern Ontario agriculture journalist and communicator with experience in print and online formats.

U.S. grains: Soybean futures inch higher on China trade optimism
U.S. soybean futures firmed on Wednesday as traders remained hopeful for progress in trade talks with top soy buyer China and on a Japanese proposal to increase U.S. soy purchases, deals that could help U.S. farmers avert major losses.
“While many farmers still like to read a farm newspaper, we also know online sources are increasingly popular and in fact, necessary for staying up to date in this rapidly changing world,” Greig said Wednesday.
Glacier FarmMedia’s operations across Canada include brands such as the Western Producer, AgDealer, Country Guide, Grainews, Canadian Cattlemen, le Bulletin des Agriculteurs and Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show.
The division includes a network of 50 journalists across Canada focused on agriculture — “a combination that adds to the depth Farmtario can provide on issues of importance to farmers,” Glacier said.
