Farm Credit Canada has renewed and raised its cash support of the Canadian 4-H Council’s “4-H 4-Ever” promotional program.
The federal farm and agribusiness lending agency has pledged $250,000 to the program for each of the next four years, up from its total commitment of $600,000 when it helped launch the program in October 2006.
“4-H 4-Ever” kicked off in 2006 with a four-month national ad campaign across web, radio and print media, to be followed up with direct grassroots-level funding support for 4-H clubs, support for volunteer training and development and other awareness activities.

China seeks improved ties with Canada amid rising trade tensions
China called on Friday for steps to improve bilateral ties with Canada, saying there were no deep-seated conflicts of interest, following a spike in trade tensions with many of Beijing’s Western trade partners this year.
As part of the expanded partnership announced Thursday, the 4-H Council and FCC said they’ve developed a new program to provide club-level funding and support. Rural 4-H clubs nationwide will be able to go through an application process for funding through the Canadian 4-H Council.
FCC’s investment will also be directed toward increasing awareness of 4-H in Canada, as well as membership and volunteer recruitment, the council said in a release Thursday.
“The FCC 4-H 4-Ever program is an excellent way to encourage sustainability of the 4-H program and provide support to assist in creating new initiatives and growth of the program across Canada at the club level and beyond,” Lyndon Carlson, FCC’s senior vice-president of marketing, said in the release.
“This donation from FCC and their commitment to 4-H will go a long way in strengthening the 4-H program across Canada, particularly at the club level,” council president Judy Shaw said in the same release.
The council noted that FCC has supported 4-H at the national level for 20 years, including its involvement with the recent “Make Your Escape” and “Join 4-H Again” campaigns.
