Organizers of the sixth World Conference on Conservation Agriculture (WCCA) have extended its early registration deadline to May 1.
WCCA will take place June 22-25 in Winnipeg, the conference’s first-ever North American venue. The conference is meant to promote the sharing of knowledge about sustainable agriculture with the intent of catalyzing change in practices and policies throughout the world. [Related story]

- Howard G. Buffett operates a 1,500-acre family farm in central Illinois and oversees three foundation-operated research farms comprised of 14,100 acres. Buffett has travelled to 130 countries and documented the challenges of preserving biodiversity and providing resources for the growing global population.
- Dwayne Beck manages the Dakota Lakes Research Farm, a unique co-operative arrangement between South Dakota State University and agricultural producers. Through the research farm’s programs, producers can profitably adopt conservation practices.
Optional tours extend the scope of the conference with a one-day tour in Canada and a 3.5-day tour in the U.S. These tours showcase farms that have used agricultural conservation systems for 20 or more years.
