Prairie barley growers will be able to get into the Canadian Wheat Board’s second pool for feed barley at an initial payment rate of up to $92 per tonne.
The CWB on Wednesday announced the initial payment for Pool B feed barley, effective Feb. 1 for deliveries from Feb. 1 to July 31, 2010.
The initials for No. 1 Canada Western (CW) feed barley and Standard Canada Western hulless barley in Pool B are set at $92 per tonne (or $2 and $2.42 per bushel, respectively).
Feed barley grading No. 2 CW gets an initial payment of $87 per tonne, or $1.89 per bushel.
