NEW FEATURE: How’s your crop doing? Too much moisture? Too little? Any pest or disease problems?
Those are often the topics you discuss with your friends, family and neighbours in the field or over a cup of coffee, but through CropWatch 2011, a new feature at Grainews.ca, we’d like to bring farmers across the Prairies into the conversation.

While spring appears to be gaining a foothold across the western Prairies, it continues to struggle across the eastern regions. This forecast period looks milder than the last, but weather models are still not showing a clear or sustained shift toward a more spring-like pattern.
You can just let us know about crop progress in general, or if you have any unusual weather of the good, bad or ugly variety. Photos are especially welcome. To pay a visit and add your voice to the discussion, CLICK HERE.
Also, if you notice any problems in your crops or have any questions, here’s where you can let us know about them as well, and we’ll see if we can find an answer. We’ll be keeping in touch with our network of public and private agronomists and farmer contributors who may be able to help.
We’ll also try to post other information that crosses our desks, from the general (provincial crop updates) to the specific (warnings about emerging pests).
