WINNIPEG, Sept. 10 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was slightly higher on Thursday, edging above 76 United States cents.
At 8:45 CDT Thursday morning the Canadian dollar was at US$0.7617 or US$1=C$1.3128, which compares with Wednesday’s North American close of US$0.7591 or US$1=C$1.3173.
Global stock markets were higher to start the day, driven largely by gains in tech giants including Apple and Amazon.
The TSX was up 10.97 points at 8:50 CDT to trade at 16,379.19 points.
Crude oil prices were slightly lower on Thursday. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was down a cent at US$38.04 per barrel. Brent Crude was down 11 cents to trade at US$40.68.
