– Calgarians voted no in a referendum Tuesday to the city placing a bid for the 2026 Winter Olympics Games. The no side received more than 56 per cent of the votes cast. An estimated cost for the games was pegged at $5.1 billion. Calgary hosted the Winter Olympics in 1988.
– United Kingdom Prime Minister Theresa May presented the tentative Brexit deal to her cabinet today. Details of the deal to have the U.K. leave the European Union have yet to be made public. However there are concerns over how open the U.K.’s border with Ireland could be.
– Ballot-counting continues in the United States following the mid-term elections. The Democratic Party has picked up 32 seats and projections are they could pick up eight more, forming a solid majority in the 435-seat House of Representatives.
