Sept. 18 (CNS Canada) – The following is a glance at the

Leona Alleslev, Toronto area member of parliament for the
Liberal government, has surprised Ottawa political circles by
quitting the governing Liberals and joining the opposition
Conservative party. The Liberals retain their majority
government by a margin of 12 seats in the House of Commons.
Alleslev cited tax reform, foreign policy and defense as key
reasons for her decision.
