WINNIPEG, Sep. 11 (CNS Canada) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– Hurricane Florence is bearing down on the southeastern United States, causing officials to order 1.5 million people to evacuate their homes in the Carolinas. The storm is expected to make landfall on Friday somewhere near the North and South Carolina border.

– China will seek permission from the World Trade Organization (WTO) to impose sanctions on the U.S. due to a dispute over U.S. anti-dumping duties that was initiated in 2013.

– Ontario Premier Doug Ford has vowed to invoke the little-used notwithstanding clause to override a judge’s decision blocking his government’s intention to cut the size of Toronto’s city council.
