Lamothe president Jean-Claude Lamothe said he hoped the brand’s customers would continue to buy Lamothe products by supporting Natrel. “I am happy that Agropur is continuing its plant operations and proud that the company has expansion projects for organic milk,” he said in Agropur’s release.

Laiterie Lamothe’s products include fluid milk, flavoured milk, omega-3

Agropur, which bills itself as Canada’s largest dairy co-op, also produces the Québon, Oka, Sealtest and Island Farms dairy product brands. The company has been in expansion mode in recent months, starting a joint venture with a South American agri-food company, to develop a dairy business on that continent, and venturing further into the U.S. market by buying Trega Foods, a Wisconsin cheese company.
