Global Markets: Harley-Davidson moves some production overseas

WINNIPEG, June 25 (CNS Canada) – The following is a glance at the news moving markets in Canada and globally.

– Harley-Davidson will be shifting some of its production to overseas factories for motorcycles destined for the European Union. The move is to help alleviate the impact of EU tariffs on U.S. goods brought in as retaliation for U.S. tariffs on steel and aluminum.

– U.S. President Donald Trump made new trade threats over the weekend, tweeting that other countries should remove trade barriers and tariffs “or be met with more than Reciprocity by the U.S.A.”

– President Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey and his Islamist-AK Party won a parliamentary majority in an election decided Monday.
