German-based Bayer is set to win conditional European Union
antitrust approval for its US$62.5 billion bid for Monsanto,
according to two people familiar with the matter. The takeover
would create a company with a share of more than a quarter of

Dick’s Sporting Goods Inc. has announced it will stop
selling certain guns at all of its stores in the wake of the
recent massacre at a high school in Florida. In an interview
with ABC News, Dick’s CEO Ed Stack said the company will no
longer sell assault-style firearms or high-capacity magazine and
will not sell any guns to people under the age of 21.
Ikea brand marshmallow candy has been recalled due to a
possible contamination from a mice infestation. The products
were sold in Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Quebec in 100-
gram packaging with display words “Marshmallow candy” below the
Ikea name “Godis Paskkyckling.” There have been no reported
illnesses.
