- The United Nations Security Council is set to vote Monday on a resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Russia and China vetoed a similar proposal on Friday for a “sustained ceasefire” but do support the latest resolution shorter-term resolution put forward by the 10 elected council members. The United States has warned that the latest resolution could hurt negotiations.

- Former U.S. President Donald Trump faces a Monday deadline to post a bond to cover the US$454 million he owes in a civil fraud judgment or risk the seizure of his properties by New York state. Trump has been asking his supporters for donations, but also claims that he should not have to pay anything and called the judgment “fraudulent” on social media.
- Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun announced that he will step down from his position with the airplane making company by the end of the year. Boeing is facing heavy regulatory scrutiny after one of its 737 MAX planes experienced a midair panel blowout in January.
