- Rising gasoline and shelter costs contributed to increased inflation in the United States in February, with the country’s consumer price index up by 0.4 per cent during the month and 3.2 per cent annually, according to a report from the Labor Department. The solid inflation was seen as likely pushing back the possibility of interest rate cuts from the U.S. Federal Reserve until later in the year.

- Long-range Ukrainian drone attacks hit targets deep inside Russia on Tuesday, including two oil refineries, according to reports. Incursions carried out by Russian citizens backing Ukraine into Russian territory were also reported by Ukraine, although Russia claimed to have stopped the attempts.
- Haiti’s unelected prime minister, Ariel Henry, announced that he will step down once a temporary replacement and transition council are appointed. Henry has led the country since the assassination of its last president in 2021. Henry’s resignation comes amid increasing violence in the Caribbean nation, as gangs have joined forces to oust the leader.
