  • Indonesian Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto claimed victory in the country’s presidential election after unofficial vote counts placed him well ahead of his closest challengers after a ‘quick count’ of ballots, calling the result “a victory for all Indonesians”. Prabowo ran with the former-president’s son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The official results are not expected until March 20 at the latest.

  • The Republican-led United States House of Representatives voted 214-213 to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday evening over the handling of the Mexico-U.S. border, after an attempt at impeachment last week failed.
