WINNIPEG, Feb. 4 (MarketsFarm) – The Canadian dollar was steady at market close on Tuesday, as gains in domestic crude oil were offset by losses in world crude prices.
The loonie finished the day at US$0.7531 or US$1=C$1.3278, which compares with Monday’s close of US$0.7533 or C$1.3275.
Benchmark crude oil prices were slightly lower on Tuesday as the coronavirus continues to be seen as an impediment to global demand. The declines were tempered by news that OPEC and its oil allies will meet to discuss the global situation with deeper production cuts a possibility.
