Case IH Magnum T Series
This year, Case IH brings several new members into the Magnum family with the launch of its new Magnum 180, 190 and 210 models, loaded with 150, 165 and 180 PTO horsepower respectively. According to Mark Hackett, Case IH North American product specialist, the company’s goal with this new mid-range Magnum generation is to couple the same cab, front surround frame and overall dimensions of its bigger brothers with a lighter footprint more suitable for the weight-to-power ratio needed to maximize row crop fuel efficiency and versatility in this power class.

These tractors feature three versions of the full powershift transmission, including the standard 18-speed or 1/19 gear in one of the two configurations, either with 25 mph gearing for better fuel economy, or with the 30-mph option to reduce travel time from field to field.
Unique to these Magnum tractors is the new multi-control armrest. It comes standard and puts six key tracker functions at the operator’s fingertips. An ergonomic multifunction control handle features an integrated gear/throttle control with an optional joystick for simultaneous control of a third mid-mount function such as a loader grapple.
Fendt 818, 820 Vario
Fendt has always had a reputation for premium tractors, especially in Europe. The Fendt 818 and 820 Vario midrange tractors aim to deliver the performance of high horsepower tractors with the maneuverability and visibility of a midsize track. According to Fendt, these models offer further premium-class standard equipment such as a tractor management system, TMS land management system, Variotronic, and the integral front power lift, which are all standard.
Fendt points to its “Variostick,” the drive that lets you steplessly accelerate the 800 Vario from standstill to the desired speed. The company also boasts that it has applied the same thinking in the opposite direction, so you can decelerate without crawler or similar groups of gears. Fendt maintains this adds up to superior productivity, with reduced fuel usage and faster operating time.
The six-cylinder Fendt tractors come standard with a flange PTO that helps the operator quickly switch between PTO profiles. You can also choose the optional front PTO, which offers excellent efficiency because it is directly driven from the engine crankshaft. There are also high-tech features such as Fendt Auto-Guide, which can help the operator with satellite guidance through the field.
